History of Taj Mahal

Famously referred to as the “teardrop on the cheek of time” by the great Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore, Taj mahal was a token of love from the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan announced his project as a tomb for his late wife who died in 1631. 20,000 Craftsmen, Artists, and skilled marble cutters from all over India were called upon to make the present-day Taj Mahal.
